SUPREME COURT.
ACCUSED MAN'S DEFAULT.

At the Supreme Court to-day, Thomas Sheehan failed to appear when, called upon to answer a charge of failing *.o keep a light on a vehicle he was driving, thereby causing the death of Frank Revell, a motor-eyclist, who collided with the cart driven by Sheehan on the Hutt road. A warrant was ordered to be issued for the arrest of the accused.
CHRISTCIIURCH OOtiVICTOXS. Christehurch,'Last Xight. Thomas Johnston, an old man, was convicted of .assault, and fined .t's. Delia Pine was convicted of the theft of £!), and was ordered to eomi up for sentence when called upon.
DUNEDIX CASES. Duncdin' Last Nijiht. Both John Crisp, a defaulting solicitor, and George Haveloek Green, who attempted to murder his wife by shooting her, and who inflicted wounds with three of the shots tired by him, pleaded guilty. Crisp's shortcomings consisted of perjury, misappropriation of moneys entrusted to him, and a failure to keep proper books in connection with his business. His Honor Mr. Justice Sim, before whom the accused appeared, decided not to pass sentence until later. Other charges "brought were a gains' Clarence Barker, about 20 years of -age. of indecently interfering with a young _girl of,weak mind; against John Cecil Mercer, of theft from a dwelling at I'atearoa,and against Win. Thomson, about 30 years of age, who pleaded not guilty and' stood his trial for attempted indecent assault on a young girl. Barker was found guilty of assault with intent* and of indecent assault. Mercer pleaded guilty, and the pa'sihg of Bcn't/'iice on him and on Barker Via--postponed. In the case of Thomson, the jury returned a verdict of 'not gn'ity.'' after about, half an hours's retirement.
