ANTIDOTE CAUSES DEATH. By Telegraph—Press Association. Hastings, Last Night. At an inquest qtmcerning the death of William James Patrick Byrne, aged 31, wjio died suddenly this morning, evidence showed that deceased consumed three eight-ounce bottles of chloral bromide mixture in two days>. The deceased was in the habit of taking this drug to counteract a craving for drink. A verdict was returned that death was due to heart failure, accelerated by Chloral poisoning. A rider was added, "that it is expedient that chemists, after making up mixtures which might be fatal if an overdose is taken, should note on the prescription the date, and how it is made up."
