NEW PLYMOUTH SOCIAL NEWS Mrs. D. K. Morrison, who has boon on a visit to Wellington and Xelson, lias returned to Xew Plymouth. Dr. and Mrs. liertrnm arrive in New Plymouth next Tuosday to attend the. wedding of .Miss Flossie Evans. During their stay they will tfe the guests of Archdeacon and Mrs. Evans.

Miss .Tolly, who lias been the guest of Mrs. Bowling, has returned to Dunediii. Miss Saunders, who lias been the guest of her aunt, '.Mrs. .1. Mackay, Old Hospital road, has returned to her home in Otautau, Otago. Mrs. Crooke and Misses Crooke (2), who have been on a visit to Australia, returned to New Plymouth last night.

Mrs J. lioid. who has been on a visit to the. Wairnrapa, returned by last night's mail train. Miss li. Evans, who until recently was a member of the nursing staff of the Kotorua Sanitorium, returned to Xew Plymouth last Wednesday. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Watson and Miss K. Watson, who have been on a visit to the .Marlborough Sounds, have returned.

■Miss M. Dowlijig, who has been visiting her home in Xow Plymouth, lias returned to Duuedin to continue her medical .studies.

Mrs. Robinson (Awukiuo), with her sisters, Misses Williams (2), are on a Visit to New Plymouth, and are staving at the White Hart Hotel.

The engagement is announced of Mr H. W. Young, at present on 'the staff of the Town Clerk's office, to Miss May MeEwen, of Xow Plymouth. .Mr Young is shortly severing his connection with the Town Clerk's office, to take up a position with Messrs and Clarke.

Last Friday Mrs. E. Carthew gave a most enjoyable bridge party, which resulted in Mrs. Percy Webster and Mrs. Courtney being the prize winners. Lust Wednesday a committee of ladies arranged a most cnjovahlc dawn in the Rowland Hall, which'had been prettily decorated with bowls of shaded hydrangea, while the supper table was massed with yellow chrysanthemums and violets.
