FRUIT BY POST.
A SCHKMIi NEGLECTED. . By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. The scheme in force since January Ist, 1913, under which fruit may be obtained by the consumer direct from the producer through the medium of the. post office, is not being availed of to the extent anticipated, lc is thought that the public are not aware of the advantages o£ the scheme. Under the system an order coupon is supplied by the Department on payment of a fee of 2d, which Corel's postage to the destination. The coupon is filled in with the requisite particulars, and ttddressed by the purchaser. It is then handed in at a post office, together with an amount- covering the price of the fruit as advised by the vendor, charges due for transit and delivery, -and' ordinary commission on postal notes. The fruit is subsequently consigned to the purchaser by the vendor through the Railway Department,
