Suffragettes placed a gunpowder bomb in the valve-house at the Dewsbury reservoir at Penistone. The fuse just failed. If it had exploded the damage would have been tremendous, as it would have 'been impossible to stop the flow of water.
After a chase through England, Scotland and Wales, Lilian Linton, the hunger striker, who was frequently disguised, lias been re-arrested for setting fire to the pavilion at Kew in 1913.
