Steamer on Fire
LINERS HURRYING TO THE RESCUE. NO TRACE OF THE CREW. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright Received 5, 8.45 p.m. Halifax (Nova Scotia), May 4. An unidentified steamer is reported (o be on fire- three hundred miles sodth of Cape Race by the steamer Zeidlitz, which was unable to -identify her, owing to thick smoke. No sign of life is discoverable.
Received 5, 9.15 p.m. , Halifax, May 4. The Seydlitz called other liners by wireless, the Sachem, Branderburg, Olympia, and Frauconca responding. Not a trace of the ship's boats has been found, and the fate of the crew is a mystery.
