Mr. D. K. Morrison, manager of the Taranaki .Freezing Co., is on a visit to Wellington. | Mr. C. E. Bellririger is attending the sevtmth Biennial Movable Conference of Oddfellows at Wanganui, The death occurred at the New Plymouth Hospital on Saturday of Mr. YV. I'. Barclay, -a very old and respected Taranaki' settler. 1 Bom in London, and educated in Cornwall, he came- to New Zealand in 1877. and settled on the Carrington road. New Plymouth. For three years he was chairman of the Caning- • ton Road Board. Later, he took up land in the Tariki district, and there he was elected cliairmaii of the school committer, taking a great interest in its affairs. Thence he moved to Tikorangi, and had resided there for the past ten years, en-ilcarir.-r himself to all with whom he .•ame in contact, and his death will cause very general regret.
