COOK AND THE POLE.
PROPOSED RECOGNITION. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright Washington, April 30. In the House of Representatives, Mr. Poindexter moved that the thanks oi Congress be expressed to Dr. Frederick Cook for his discovery of the X T orth Pole. Mr. Poindexter contended that it was unreasonable to suppose that Cook spent so long without attempting to reach the pole. No action was taken.
