GERMAN MAIL SUBSIDIES.
• GREATLY DECKKASIXG. By Telegraph—Press Association. Berlin, May 1. The Reichstag passed the first reading of a Bill embodying the international agreement with regard to safety of ships at sea, also the mail subsidies. The Bill for the latter shows a decrease from six million marks to 1,200.000 marks. This is mainly due to the Hamburg-Amcrika and Xorddeut-scher-Uoyd Companies continuing the far Eastern, services with a smaller subsidy and the abandonment of the Xorddeutsehers Australian service.
