HOUSEHOLDERS' MEETINGS.
| HILLSBOROUGH. There was a very fair attendance at tho householders' meeting on Monday night. Quite a number of ladies were present. Mr. J. R. Hill presided. The following committee were elected: Messrs H. E. Sampson, T. Smellie, H. 0. Skelton, T. Hawkings, H. 0. Marr, J. B. Marsh and J R. Hill.
Opportunity was taken to make arrangements for the children's annual picnic, and the distribution of prizes. Thursday, May 7th, was decided on. An energetic ladies' committee will attend to the refreshments. We will be pleased to see any New Plymouth friends who care to be with u«. I Mr. J. R. Hill was subsequently elected chairman and Mr. H. C. Marr aecrei tary. | A resolution was passed suggesting that the Taranaki Education district should be enlarged, so as to include the whole of the provincial distict of Taranaki.
