On the second day of the Manawatu autumn meeting the amount passed through the totalisator was ,C 17,030, against £17,910 for the corresponding (lay last year. The total for the meeting was £38,957, as against £35,31 The stewards concluded the enquiry into the Tunning 1 of Classis on the first day in the Linton Hack, and disqualified the owners, jockey and horse for six months. An enquiry was also held into the alleged interference by Bold Stroke in the Manawatu Stakes. The stewards were-satisfied that the interference was not intentional, but in their opinion owners should exercise gTeater care in putting up indifferent horsemen incapable of controlling their mounts. i\. Berry, who was riding General Madero in the five furlongs Cloverlea Hack Handicap, was supended for a month for careless riding. Also started: Pariforrn, Gipsy Belle, Bold Stroke, Charmilla, Angelina, Ringforni aixl Elevate. Time, lmin Usee. A splendid finish; won by a neck.
