i LONDON WOOL. SALES.. IBy Cable—Press Association—Copyright London, April 2!). At the wool sales, 9905 bales, including 751)7 bales from New Zealand, were offered. There was a good attendance, and good competition, Yorkshire buyers being the principal operators, Americans giving fair support, but the Continental buyers were quiet. Medium and lower crossbreds were practically unchanged from the March closing prices, but merinos and fine crossbreds allowed a slight upward tendency, occasionally a fine advance..
At the wool sales there was strong competition for all descriptions and an upward tendency. For merinos there was keen' American and Continental demand.
The local branch of the Bank of New. Zaland has received the following cable" advices from their London' office:—"The sales have opened with strong eompetition and a large attendance of buyers. The total quantity of New Zealand wool available is 13,000 bales. The market is strong for all kinds of wool. Prices are unchanged."
