Desperate Strikers

Fighting at l!im!i'ei\ Colorado, resulted in another death ami many were wounded around the neighborhood. Women and children who had taken refuge within Hecla mine enclosure remained the whole day lying on the floor of their homes in order to avoid the bullets which poured into the mine. The strikers are entrenched on every hill, preparing for the arrival of the State troops. Citizens have organised a volunteer force to endeavor to dislodge t'jc strikers. Mr. Rockefeller has stated that if + -he strikers had any grievance the company's officials were ready to meet them in a reasonable spirit. Mr. Rockefeller referred to the numerous concessions made to the employees from time to time. The "unionisation" of the mino, however, would not be tolerated for a 'single instant. Only ten per cent, of the employees were actually union men.
Owing to the paralysed state of the authorities, President Wilson has allowed the despatch of State troops, stipulating that the troops must only be used in the actual rest oration of order. KILLING CONTINUES AT OOLOKADO. Washington, April 28. The Cabinet ordered the despatch of Federal troops to suppress the disorders in Colorado. The violence is increasing. The strikers and militia had another fight, in which eight were killed. The miners are encamped on the heights overlooking the mines, and shoot down non-strikers and militiamen. The outrages, including the burning of mine workings and buildings, continue.
