PAHIATUA PROTESTS.
NO GENERAL SYMPATHY. WITH HOLLAND. liy Telegraph—Pre;., Association. Pahialiiii, Saturday. A hurriedly convened meeting to-day, the Mayor presiding, attended by many leading citizens, unanimously passed the following motion: "That this meeting of representative men, hurriedly called, desires to record that tho motion of sympathy with Holland, passed at the Hunters' meeting was supported by very few people; that more than !>0 per cent of the local people consider Holland was very leniently treated; also that Edward Baucke, President of the Palnatua Progressive Association, had nothing to do with the. motion carried at the Hunters' meeting and no sympathy with the motion."
It was also decided to ask the Mayor to call a public meeting to further consider the resolution passed.
