ASSISTA.\CE WANTED. The Borough engineer (Mr. 0. Skitrop) wrote that owing to the increase 01 work in connection with the expenditure of the £42,000 loan, the ordinal y revenue, and reports on the sewer extensions, it was impossible for him to continue the personal snpovvir-ion of work of the Borough to ..';<: s.'iue extent as he has been doing up '.o the present. While he had been in the Council's (iiiploy, the Borough had grown fiom SOD to 4000 acres, and tin- stall from 33 to 110 men. In order to relieve him. he suggested that Mr. J. Chapman, who had been foreman at the water■•nrks intake, be transferred to town. The formation work at the intake was so far advanced that the concrete foreman. Mr. Hogg, who had been building the dam, could supervise it along his other work. Mr. Chapman had ben foreman and chainman under him in the Public Works Department, for over two years, and he knew him to be reliab l :, sober and tactful.
