Chrishchurch, Last Night. Speaking at the ceremony o* the unfurling of the flag at Springlie.d this afternoon, the Postmaster-General, Hon. R. H. Rhodes, announced the return of the Post and Telegraph revenue for the financial year, 1913-14. The return, be said, which baa .just been compiled, disclosed a very satisfactory position. The revenue from all branches totalled £l,2C9.102 exceeding the Estimates by £231,102, wihilc i" exceeded the revenue of I the previous year by £102,008. The increase was general. Kach item of revenue exceeded that of the previous year, as the following particulars showed:— Postal stamps, w7.982; telegrams, £1,0,200; telephone £30,053; postal miscellaneous, £250!); telegraph miscellaneous £384; total increase, £102,088. Continuing, the Postmaster-General said .the country was at present very prosperous.
