An army of four hundred strikers is fcing a large force of the; State. Mliitu, and further bloodshed is expected. There h intense excitement around the district. The strikers are largely aliens, and are determined to fight to a finish.
WOMEN AND BABIES KILLED.
New York, April 21. Twenty-six were killed at Trinidad, Colorado, through the burning of the strikers' tents when the State troops shelled them with tnaehine guns. Three i women and a number of babies are among the dead. One man tried to save his sister, who scrambled out of the trench in which the trikers had taken refuge. Explosives used by the strikers hurst, killing several during the bombardment. It is believed that the women and children were suffocaTed when they took refuge in a cave near the tent colony.
