PROBLEM OF THE PACIFIC.
BRITISH BLUE HOOK.
By Cable—Press Association—Copyright London, April 22.
In the House of Commons Mr. Mac[Xamara, replying to Mr. Lynch regarding the 190!) agreement and Senator Millen's attitude on the Japanese al-
liance and its relation to the defence of the Pacific, said this was a proper and desirable subject for debate on tht. Estimates, but it was impossible to deal adequately with issues of such importance in a reply to a question.
The Blue Book included General Botha's minute of January, 1913. ueprecating uipy departure from the present machinery for consultation. It
was unnecessary to have a Union Minister in constant attendance at the Defence Committee. The Standard claims that the Blue Book justifies the allegation of divergencies.. Mr. Myers, in an interview, strongly opposed the contribution policy.
