RIVAL NOISE-MAKERS.
MUSICIAN AND CARPET-BEATERS.
Times and Sydney Sun Services. Paris, April 20. For several days carpet beaters were terrified by shots and rifle bullets penetrating the carpets they were beating. Police were posted in the surrounding buildings, and a rifle cracked as usual. The police discovered an old musician, who complained that he was awakened every morning by the noise of the beaters. The Magistrate sympathised with him, and dismissed the charge against him.
