RUN AT STARVATION WAGES. THE CRICKET BALL INDUSTRY. By Cable —Press Association—Copyright London, April 19. The cricket ball makers at Tonbridge struck demanding an increase of wages of 5s per dozen balls. The manufacturers" admit that highly skilled men earn only 30s weekly. They state that retailers refuse sufficient margin to allow a fair wage. The manufacturers claim to have sufficient balls in stock to last out the 1914 season.
