There was line weather and a largo attendance for to-day's races. The rain i>» Thursday had improved tile track and the surroundings. New Zealand horses failed to run prominently. Results: — Rous Handicap, of 500 sovs., one mile and a-lialf —The Christian Brother 1, .Simon I'lisco 2, Reek's Lager 3. Nine started. The winner led most of the way, and won liy live lengths, .six lengths between the next two. Time, 2min 2(1 see. Place Handicap, of 750 sovs.. one mile and a-lialf—.Matouree 1, Aleconner 2, Ernngclla 3. Sixteen started, including Hon iievc. Won by two mid a-luill' lengths, a neck between second and third. Bun Reve was eighth. Time, 2min 3tf sec. Second Steeplechase, of 500 sovs., about three miles—Don Q. 1, The Miser 2, Fiddlcstring 3. five started. Doll Q led almost the whole way, and won by ten lengths. Time, Omin SG'/isec. A.J.C. Plate, of 200U sovs (w.t'.a.), tliree miles—Cagou 1, Aurofodina 2, Lilyve.il 3. Eight started, including Midnight Sun, Sinapis and Hon Ton. j Cagou soon assumed the lead, which he held throughout. Aurofodina and Lilyveil made an effort in the straight, but were unable to catch the leader, who won by three-quarters of a length, live lengths being between second and third. Time; smin 37sec. Second Nursery Handicap, of 501) sovs., six furlongs—Giru 1, Carlitu 2, Velours and Spiea dead heat for third place. Twenty started. At tlie distance Spica looked like winning, but Giru and Carlita finished fast, Giru winning ■by a neck, with a length between the next two. Time, lmin ISsec. Final Handicap, of 500 sovs., one mile and a-quarter —M.ilthuaian 1, Sunlike 2, Lindera 3. Fourteen started. Silver Lad led into the straight, but at the distance -Ylalthusian made a splendid run, followed by Sunlike, and smothered the leaders. Won by three-quarters of a length, a neck separating second and third. Time, 2min 15sec. Peterson and Connolly, owners of Lilvveil, were the biggest stake winners at I he meeting, taking £5864.
