Dolores 1 second recital had oven reason to be thoroughly satisfied. It ".vas a delightful concert, to which a highly appreciative audience lent attentive ear. The programme was admirably varied and of sustained excellence, while the gifted soprano was in fine voice, and most generous in adding recall numbers to Iter ligt of contributions. Her repertoire, however, is quite exceptional, and ,sho always places the best of music before her audience. Few fvingers could undertake, as Mdlle. Dolores does so easily and with so little evidence of effort, the task of contributing _ practically unaided a formidable programme of vocal selections, and few singers in so doing would not run some risk of wearying the listener. Mdlle. Dolores remains as ever, however, tßc exceptional artist. She maintains her place easily, moreover, as quite the most cultivated singer to visit this part of the world. She furnishes an .object lesson not to be excelled in the art of interpretation, and stimulates a sense of values in vocal work Which leaves a permanent impression, while always evoking" fresh surprise and admiration. It is a good story, aptly told by the aid of high class acting and good photography. "The Snail," is a wonderful study in natural history,'embodying some fine photographic effects. "Bellagio" is a scenic number which almost takes the place of travel and must be seen to be appreciated. The "Flying A" Company is responsible for a fine release entitled "'Step-Brothers," a unique story of family life. "A Box of Matcnes" is "ft comedy whicili is genuinely mirth-proroking, and forms a rousing conclusion to the evening's entertainment.
