ADULTERATED MILK.
■ THATXONFERENCE EXPOSED. By Telegraph—Press Association, Wellington, Last Night. ' * " €er *ainly looks all right," commented Mr. Cooper, S.M., to-day after having examined a sample; of adulterate milk which contained 29 per cent, of water and annatto. The milk was of an exceptionally rich color, due, it was stated, to the presence of the annatto. The milk was a sample from the stock of a woman veador charged on two informations with selling adulterated milk. The defendant, who stated she was deceived by the color of the liquid, swore she sold it in exactly the same condition as sh« re- 1 ceived it. The prosecution stated that there was every reason to believe the woman, but the onus of selling the milk was on her.
