Colonel Walker's Bill in the House of Commons, prohibiting the exportation of worn-out horses, has led to petitions to the Belgian authorities. The Bill seriously affects the poor, who can only afford horsc-flesih. There were 26,750 horses consumed in 1913. Senator Vandebcrge suggests legislation to admit meat from the British colonies.
