LaSoR DEPARTMENT CHANGES. INSPECTORS SIT FOR EXAMINATION By Telegraph —Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. New regulations by the Public Service Commissioners are gazetted to-night, prescribing a special departmental examination for inspectors of factories, etc., belonging to the Labor Department who are now placed in. the general division and desire promotion to a higher grade of inspectors, who are graded in the clerical division. The first examination under this regulation will be held next week. There are two vacancies to be filled, viz., positions of ollicer-in-■chargc of the Department in Christchurch, and inspector-in-charge of the inspectors in the Wellington l .district. Some dozen inspectors will sit for the examination. Besides the subject of arithmetic, the examination will bear practically on the higher work of officers of the Department.
