ACCIDENT AT WAIWAKAIHO

A\ t'XKXPLAJNKD COLLISION; An accident occurred on the Devon road at Waiwakaiho on Monday afternoon whereby a boy named Prank Kcllv aged about i:> years, the voimgcsl »<m of Mrs. C. Kelly, of. New Plymouth, was severely injured. The circumstances of the accident point to a collision with a motorist or motor cycyist, whose identity is at present unknown. The police are making enquiries into the matter. The boy had been acting as a "caddie" during the golf tournament at the Xg« Motu links, and left the links on jus bicycle. At about 3 p.m. a niotovHt discovered him lying unconscious on the road beside, his bicycle, just outside the, YWuwaknilio 'salevards. He was picked up and conveyed to Mr. D. S ttylies surgery, where his injuries were attended to and be was subsequently taken to the New Plymouth Hospital. The boy was severely injured about the head and t'aee. and, was also sniveling from severe concussion. He did not regain consciousness until yesterday afternoon, when all be could remember wa.s that he left the golf links on his hicycle on the afternoon of the aeei-I dent.
