POULTRY ASSOCIATION.
THjj ANNUAL CONFERENCE. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. The fourth annual conference of the New /ealanu Poultry Association opened to-day, with forty delegates present. •Mr. S. Brittain. (Bulls) presided. The mayor, in welcoming the delegates, referred to tin* British and American markets, and said that it was important if New Zealand wished to secure and iretain a standing in those markets, that its products sboudil be of the finest quality, and that the growers should be scrupulously honest in their dealings. The annual report commented upon the improved outlook for the .industry and upon the adoption !>y gruwers' r.f more modern uietnods of marketing poultry anil eggs. The report estimated the annual losses by had marketing methods at foO.OOO in the matter of eggs, and £25.000 in poultry for the table, and urged that some better system of introduction by the Government should be instituted to help to reduce the losses.
