CARPENTIER v. THE AMATEUR. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright London, April 13. Carpcnticr's amateur opponent, who is to have a private fight with him for £2OO, is George Mitchell, son of a Bradford mill-owner, who was formerly a well-known amateur boxer. lie is also a nephew of Mr. Percy Illingsworth, .M.P.. the Liberal Whip. Mr. Mitchell is 22 years of age and is Cft 3in in height. He won the Northern Counties' amateur heavy-weight championship early in 1014 in half ft round. He is also a successful wrestler.
