StR JOSEPH WARD IN SYDNEY. By Cable —Press Association—Copyright Sydney, April 14. Sir Joseph Ward arrived by the Maunganui. Discussing the Pacific cable, he declared it was never intended that the scheme Should end with the laying of the cable to the Canadian shore, bat that it should extend across the Atlantic. It was a matter for regret that the scheme had not been carried to a conclusion. \
