AUSTRALASIAN CABLE RATES. HON. T. MACKENZIE'S MOTION By Cable Press Association-*— Copyright London, April 7. At the meeting of the Pacific Cable Board Sir Matthew Nathan moved to rescind the concession on New Zealaid cable rates.

Mr. T. Mackenzie, High Commissioner for New Zealand, moved an amendment that the whole questiori' of Australasian rates be referred to a committee, in order, if possible, to make further reductions. Mr. Mackenzie pointed out that where reductions had been made they had been compensated for by an increase oi revenue. He mentioned the increasing reserves of the Board and stated that the contributions of the Imperial and Dominions' Parliaments had been £55,000 in ten years. 1 The amendment was carried.
