Rockefeller admitted that the conditions in the Southern Colorado strike Jistrict were serious, according to reports reaching him, as 'he was interested in some of the coal companies affected. He and his associates would rattier that the: present violence continued, and lose all their millions invested therein, than that American workmen should be deprived of the right under the Constitution to Work for whom they pleased.
