KAISER ON CATHOLICISM.
A STATEMENT BEXIED. By Gable—Press Association —Copyright Berlin, April 6. The Norddeiltscbc states that in accordance with Herr Kopp's will, th>; Kaiser's letter to the Landgravine Aanna of Hesse will be returned. The I letter proves to be purely a family matter, and not Tntended for publication. It does not contain any reflections upon the Eoman Catholic faith. All reports to the contrary are baseless, and the originator of them is seriously blameworthy for distorting circumstances whereby religious peace might be ended and a disrespect to Catholicism lightly attributed to the Kaiser, which is entirely foreign to him. The letter, in question was written in 1901 by the Kaiser to the Landgravine, when she became a Roman Catholic. It strongly disapproved of her change of faith, and added, "I hate the religion you have adopted."
