'•Tlib Beggar Girl's Wedding," to lie staged by one of George Willoughbv's dramatic companies tomorrow evening in tile Theatre. Royal was the cause of a lot of excitement in the theatrical world of ijoi'.don last month, as the author, Mr. Walter Melville, was sued for plagiarism by Miss 'Rosemary Rees, an actress and authoress hailing from Gialiorne, New Zealand. Miss Rees had written a drama, entitled "The Beggar Bride," and submitted it to Mr. Melville, svho, however, did not use it at bi» theatre, iintl shortly afterwards brought out "The Beggar Girl's Wedding," Miss Rees' complaint was that he had introduced ideas into liis play which wore in her work. The case came oil' in due. course, and Miss Rees was non-suited. The action caused a considerable amount of talk amongst theatricals, as at the time "The Beggar Girl's Y\ edding" was being played at several of the theatres both in London and in tlie provinces. Mr. George Willnughbv intends stiigkig the piece here exactly as was done in the Adelphi Theatre in Sydney fon:e time back, and for llr.it purpose is bringing all the scenery and
appointments over which wide built for t!ic S\di!ny production. The box-plan is now open ;it Collier's pi;'.no depot, and ns popular pricca are announced there is uvery likelihood of a heavy booking. On SiUunl.iv evening "No Mother to Guide ller"'will liu staged.
