CONFERENCE AT JIAWERA. SOME IMPORTANT DECISION'S. By Telegraph—Press Association. Hawera, Last Night. An important ;conferenee of representatives from the Taranaki, Stratford, Hawera, Waverley and Wangamii A. and J l . (Associations was held at.Hawera to-day. Fourteen delegates were present. Mr. B. C. Lysaght, president of the Egmont Assoeiation, presided. Matters affecting the different associations were discussed and remits adopted for presentation to the Board (if Agriculture. It was decided that it be a recommendation to the Wangamii Association to alter its dates in the uiroetion of holding its show one week after t..e Palmcrston North show, instead lot a fortnight after, as at present, the other shows along the coast to follow -in serial order.

Resolutions were jwsscd bringing under the notice of the Dominion Conference the a-dvisablencss of giving a central body powers of enforcing the ruling 3 of the conference by disqualification or otherwise, similar to that given to other liirge bodies.

Remits to the Board of Agriculture included the following:— That the Government be asked to exhibit portions of their State Farm stock at shows. The feeling was expressed that the stock on experimental farms should be allowed to compete at the shows with private individuals' stock, and a motion that this stock be "for exhibition only" was lost.

Remits w«re also carried asking the Board to bring before the Government the need for more satisfactory methods being adopted in the eradication of noxious weeds, especially ragwort, and blackberry; and also for'e.xperiments being conducted with a view to removing the common fern on hilly country.

A resolution was carried urging the Board to bring under the notice of the Government the scarcity of suitable farm labor in the country.
