THEATRE ROYAL PICTURES. . The new programme of pictures opening at the Theatre Royal on Tuesday night is going to be an excellent on,e and well worthy of a, visit. The Vitagraph Company 'has excelled itself again in a very beautiful drama, entitled "Under .the Daisies," full of feeling and appealing to the hearts of all. Tlie affections of a young girl are trifled with, and the results as portrayed in the story act as a timely warning to all lovers of both sexes. The subject is sensibly dealt with, and decidedly interesting. A fine Gaumont 'Graphic heads the programme, and another educational picture, illustrating "A Day in a Sailor's Life," being a second picture of this series, will interest .those fond of following the routine of a aailor's. life. The Keystone Company are <roing to make you laugh again in their latest creation, "Heinze's Resurrection." The programme includes several other cinematograph gems to make ud a pleasurable evening. The entertainment is given for the benefit of Miss A. Hawke, to further her candidature for the Carnival Queen. Plan at Collier's. WEST END PIONIC. The West End Foreshore Improvement Society is arranging a variety 3taU in conjunction with the monster picnic on Easter Monday. The secretary, Mr E. Bary, Young Street, will be pleased to receive advice of gifts for the stocking of this stall, and. arrangements will be made for the collection of all gifts; EAST END «TUG-OF-WAR. Good entries are promised from town and country teams for the big tug-of-war to be held in connection with the picnic at the East End beach on Easter .Holiday. The first pull will take place at 11 a.m., and tho whole competition will be completed and orize-money (£2O) paid out in time to allow country teams to leave by tho train in the evening. Mr G. Feek has presented a large dolls' house, made bv himself, for competition during the picnic. It is-a fine pieea of work, and will be view in one' of the shops in New riymouth shortly.
