While attempting to break out of Folson prison, at Sacramento, California, convicts from the incorrigible ward engaged in a revolver battle with the warders. Three convicts were killed and two fatally wounded.

Thirteen prisoners eoncocted the plot, and at a given signal broke through the wooden doors of their cells. Two guards then opened fire, riddling the men with bullets.
