Tlu; certificate of registration of the newly-formed Soft-goods Employees' Union lias teen received from the. 15-i'ir-istrar l>v Mr Artlmr Rosser, the unions secretary. Two applications for registration as a union of employees in the drapery and kindred occunations were received at tlie same time by tlie Registrtar. He, however, judged that the application sent in l>v Mr Rosser was tlie more wortliy of consideration, in that it fame from a body of men whose meeting was really in opposition to that of the first named, anil that the union for which application was received was one to which all the others could (in the words of the Act) conveniently belong, lo due course application will be made for an award to govern tlie sofl-eoods industry and the 'mercery anil drapery trades generally.
