Jto»s appears upon the scene with a get-rich-quick scheme under the name of " "Tlie Wireless Power Company." He rents an office in the bank buildings, ami the president introduces' hin to his daughter and patrons of the bank. Ross becomes a lion in town, and citizens fait over one another to buy hi» bogus. stock. Grace becomes fascinated by the slid; eitv man. The stocks having all been sold, Boss prepares to get away, and notifies the Board of Trade that he will give a banquet and regretfully leave in two days. Tom and Daddy botk have suspicions of Ross. One evening he fe eamrht by them in the a«t of embracing Grace, who screams for helo, and they thereupon, knock, him insensible. Tom declares lie will leave the bunk, but urges his father to orevent Ross from drawing the money, and the old man, therefore, who has charge of the safe combination, removes it and hides it in the cashier's desk. Ross next morning requests his money, but on going to the safe finds it cmoty, and at once an alarm is given and the citizens mob the bank. Daddy restores thomoney as Tom and the post office authorities pounce upon the confidence man for fraudulent use of the mail. M Daddy is congratulated, and Tom Grace embrace ior good. Local Vowlers would do well to see the Keystone comedy, "Howling Match," between Messrs. Saner and Kraut. The bulls and runs . are manipulated by an electric ma<met, and perform some mieer antics. Thisprogramme will be screened for the last time to-night. Seats mnv be booked nt the Empire Theatre office, where the box plan will in future l>e kept.
ROYAL PICTURES. The entertainment at the Theatre Royal to-night should attract a large audience, the occasion being the introduction of the Roval P'errots for th« first time in New Plymouth. Miss Vefci Gilbert, our favorite oneratic star, will take a prominent part in the performance, and as this vonng ladv ha? given her tiilents on manv occasions for the benefit of Now Plymouth, a verv hearty support should be accorded her. the object of the 'lorformnnce bem™ to further Miss Gilbert's candidature for the Carnival Queen.
