FIRES.
ANOTHER BLENHEIM OUTBREAK. By Telegraph—Press Association. Blenheim, Tuesday, An eight-roomed house owned by Mrs. J. Fitzgerald and oocupied by F. Morrison was wholly destroyed by fire late this afternoon. The outbreak started in the rear of the building, but the origin is unknown. The furniture was nearly all saved. Only the shell of the building was left standing. Insurances: £SOO in the State office on the building, £SO in the Phoenix on the piano, and £IOO on the furniture in the North British. Shortly after the steamer Blonhei'a left the wharf a young man noticed » fire, apparently under the wharf. II.; communicated with the steamer Opaws, and the alarm was given by her whtV.le. The bond, goods eked, and machinery shed were totally destroyed witJi their contents, and the wharf was partially destroyed. The shed was fully the contents, including 400 sacks barW, 300 sacks peas, lines of wheat, oats and chaff, and general merchandise. J!ichinery valued at £IOOO, and a portio.i of the cargo just landed by the Bl.)tv heim, was also destroyed. Cloustoa'a stock and machinery was valued at £1)000, the buildings and wharf at £4OJJ, shed £2250, machinery and implements £OIO, and stock £5500. These were insured in the National office. These 'include Ciouston's own goods and what he is responsible for. Parker and Co. lent fi4o sacks chaff, 200 bales hay, and 200 sacks peas, which were insured for £2!O in the British Dominions Office. These were general and individual losses, but the amounts are not available
