THE STARCHFIELD MURDER.
FATHER CIIARCEP. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright London, March "1. Extraordinary interest is being taken in the Starchiicld trial at the Old ISaiiey. Mr. Ilodkin. prosecuting counsel, submitted that it was practicable that the body had not been noticed during four and a-half journeys, at'Ler witnesses' alleged encounters with SLmhliehl and his son over two hours preuously.
The Crown's llienr;,- was that tin l jolting slowly dislodged the body. The cross-examination by the defence suggests mistaken identity, perhaps the result of seeing newspaper photograph*.
The body of a boy was found under the seat of a carriage of a London suburban train, and his father i„ charged with having murdered him.
