SKATING.
Skaters are very keen with rcgarj to the competition on Thursday *«t at the Coronation Hall. Good competition mast lie tho result of the quar-ter-mile handicap, as there 7 arc at pre* sent skaters here to represent Wellington, Auckland, Wanganui and Hawcra, and, as it is the first of the season, all are anxious to try conclusions, and. as we have two or three 'here that must be accounted for, things should prove very interesting. The committee have got the rink in order again, and with the aid of a motor-car, hope to.have the floor in good condition. Skaters should reserve their skates, as this may be done on Thursday witnout extra charge. Admission for children will be halfprice.
