"The Diamond Mystery," which is the star drama in the new programme to be screened at His Majesty's Theatre tonight, is one of the latest and most sensational Vitagraphs yet produced. Love, villainy, intrigue and most of the passions in human nature are depicted with forceful realism. The story centres round a man who believes lie lias discovered the secret of making artificial diamonds, but who temporarily loses his reason. The love element is connected with his daughter, and the villainy occurs in connection with the dia. mond-making plant, which is eventually blown up in a sensational way. Another .very attractive film is that of "A Modern Hero," one of the best of the A.B, domestic dramas., "Postponed Departure" should also prove a great draw, for it is an excellent sample of the high-class Pathe .dramagraplis that have become so popular. The comedies and ; comics arc in strong force, and the scenics are more delightful than ever. The latbst Gazette and OceanogTaphy help to fill up a list that should satisfy all patrons. The music is of the latest and best, and a most enjoyable evening awaits patrons of Bernard's Pictures.
TOWN HALL PICTURES As anticipated, the new programme of pictures serened last night was greatly appreciated. Evidently those who saw "The Critic" considered it was one of the best dramas exhibited, as indeed it is. It is a truly remarkable picture, depicting the Bin and degradation of the life as lived by those of the underworld, and is vivid in portrayal and unique in plot. The management is sparing no expense in catering for the-people of Stratford. Two star pictures are shown twice weekly of the world's leading makers. "A Wreath of Orange Blossoms" is a drama by the A.B. Company. This is a wonderfully powerful drama and the mountings are exceedingly elaborate. "The Engadine" is a scenic well worth seeing. Other films are by tho leading makers. Professor Henderson played by special request "The Pirates of Penzance." Mr. Bert Davis sang "I do like to be beside the seashore." Matinee at 2.30 on Saturday. The management is catering especially for the children, showing comic, educational and topical films. All children 3d to the matinee.

The opening of the Methodist bazaar took place yesterday and there is every prospect of it being a thorough success. The ladies have worked hard, and the cause is good; moreover, the articles ok sale are calculated to meet the requirements of all classes, and, what is more to the purpose, should suit their purpose.
Seven rinks of local bowlers journeyed to Inglewood yesterday to try conclusions with the players there, and an enjoyable afternoon was spent. The Fire Brigade Carnival Committee held a final meeting last night, his Worship the Mayor (Mr. W. P. Kirk wood) presiding.
