GISBORNE FLOODS.
THE WATER SUBSIDING. By: Telegraph—Press Association. Gisborne, Wednesday. The floods in the Waipaoa river are subsiding, and beyond breaking tbe Public Works temporary bridge no damage wag done at Motu. The flood* were the highest for years. A Teport from Port Awanui states that the Waiapu river is in lieavy flood and is causing loss of sheep. The ex» tent of the damage is not yet knows. The water is nearly up to the decking of the Waiapu bridge, both approach** to which have been washed away. The rivcT is now going down.
