Cruickshank notified thut hn bd arranged with the management of the Union Steam Ship Company to placa the League's booklets on their Australian, Vancouver, and' Frisco steamers Steps are being taken tol distribute tha booklets also on vhe Shaw, SavM an d Albion Company's and the New Zealand Shipping Company's steamers.

Burton> who it about *to leave for Australia, tendered his resignation, which wa3 accepted with! regret. Eulogistic reference was made to the part taken by Mr Burton, in the affairs of the League, and also in the activties of the town, and regret waa expressed at his impending departure, which would prove a distinct lot* to the community. A vote appreciative of - hie services was unanimously paejed, and members decided to secure an album of views of the district, Ind present it to him prior to h\> departure.
