IMPORTANT PROPOSALS. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. A deputation of casual employees submitted to the Harbor Board to-night a scheme for the formation of an association or union of casual employees. The speakers said the men were dissatisfied with tlio present conditions on the wharves, and it was desired to form a new body unallied to any other union or association. The Board decided to ask the promoters of the new association to place full details before it for next meeting. The Board carried a proposal by Mr. J. Cobb that a emmittee enquire into the feasibility of settling married men in the Board's casual employ on land easily accessible to the city, the rental to be fixed so as to cover interest, depreciation and sinking fund.
