COUNTIES MUST GO SHORT. By Telegraph—Press Association. Pahiatua, Last Night. In reply to a deputation asking him to remind the Hon. Fraser, Minister of Public Works, of the grant for county roads, Mr. Fisher said that the strike last year cost £450,000 in hard cash, and probably some of the items in the Estimates would have to be cut down.
