The financial statement of the New South Wales Rugby League shows a turnover last year "of £20,928, ami a cash credit balance of £1575. The loss on the New Zealand tour was £529. (.'ate receipts increased by £4538 on the previous year. \ CLUB FORMED AT MOTUROA. A meeting for the purpose of forming a football club at Moturoa, in connection with the Breakwater Spoits Committee, was held at the Malva tea kiosk last evening, when the.re was a pood attendance, Mr C. W. Williams presiding The following officer.* were elected:— President and treasurer, Mr C. W, Williams; vice-president, Mr B. Bunbiiry; hon. secretary, Mr R. Suence; committee, Messrs. N. Skipper, E. Lovcndge, R. Lowe, L. Hart, W. Jacob, T. O'Carroll, S. Spence, and C. W. Williams. The following were elected as playing members of the club:—Messrs. T. O'Carroll, E. Loveridge, N. Skipper, H. Karelia, R. Lowe, S. Carrick, R. Spence, W. Mana, J. Walshe, A. Neaves, J. Gillbanks, 11. Henry, 11, Hapi, S. Skipper, P.. Kahui, D. Koupu, N. Lovcrulire, M. Mitchell. W. Gilbert, E. Elliott, J. Skipper, G. Musson, W. Jacob, L. Hart, and C. W. Williams.
Mr C. W. Williams was appointed delegate to the Taranaki Rugby Union, Mr Norman Loveridge club captain, and Messrs. T. O'Carroll, R. Spence, and the club captain a selection committee. The chairman reported that he had been able to secure the prison reserve field, opposite the Freezing Works, for a practice-ground for the club. It is the intention of the club to open the season in about two weeks' time, and to hold a euchre party in the West End gymnasium, particulars of which-will be advertised. Several ladies attended the meeting, and expressed their willingness to give the- club all the assistance they could.
THE HAWERA CLUB. The Hawera Club held its annual meeting on Raturdav. The balancesheet showed a credit balance of £G9. as against £52 for the nrevious ye'sr. Mr. A. Hunter was re-elected patron, Mr. E. Nalder president, Mr. L. G. Beamish secretary, and Messrs Beamish and Cooper delegates to the Union. It wa% decided to open the seaon on the first Saturday in April.
