UNION S.S. CO.'S AUSTRALASIAN SERVICE.

By Cable—Press Association—Copyright Received 23, 1-2.20 a.m. Sydney.. March 22. Mr. Holdsworth, general manager of the Union S.S. Co., in a statement in connection with the cargo trade with America, said the company had decided to initiate a regular two-monthly cargo service betwe'en Australasian and Pacific Coast ports of North America. The steamers will carry refrigerated cargo. The service will be extended to a four-weekly one if the trade warrants it. but in the previous pioneering work the whole of the space was not always availed of.

Arrangements have been made to charter ", suitable steamer, and two are being' specially built.
