Sentenced to Death
SEQUEL TO A ROBBERY. THE RESCUER'S FATE. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright '• Received 20. 9.50 p.m. Sydney, March 20. Ellis has been sentenced to death with a recommendation to mercy on account of his youth.
[A recent cable states:—A shooting affray took place in the Domain. A footpad snatched a lady's bag anu two men attempted to capture him. One was shot in the head and the other in the stomach. The latter, with conspicuous bravery, continued the chase and succeeded in bringing the assailant to the ground, and held him until assistance arrived. Both victims were sent to the hospital. A young man named Elli3 was arrested.
