Switzerland has raised the duty on frozen meat from ten to twenty-iive francs per hundred kilos (about Id per lb.) justifying the increase upon the ground that the prices of butter and cheese were recently reduced. THE BOMB OUTRAGE. Melbourne, March 19. There is no clue to the bomb outrage. The explosive expert declares that the' sender had a knowledge of chemistry, as the bomb was exploded by chemical action. > THE SOUTH RUSSIAN STORM.. St. Petersburg, March 18. The victims of the storm number about two thousand. One hundred and fifty boats were lost at Astrakhan.
A CHARGE OF MURDER. Perth, March 19. David Norman has been arrested on * charge of murdering James Murtha at Wangan Hills. Murtha's wife kept a boarding-house and Norman was employed by her. On Monday night Norman and Murtha quarrelled and the latter was fatally shot. TEMORA RAILWAY DISASTER. Sydney, March 19. The jury visited the scene of the railway disaster. Some members of the party expressed dissatisfaction at the result of the test of the signals. BRITISH REVENUE INCREASE. London, March 18. The year's revenue is expected to reach two hundred millions, exceeding the' estimate by over five millions.
